Ever notice that people take leave of their senses the minute the first snowflake falls? We hope you’re not one of “those” people. After all, it’s not like winter around Mentor is especially unpredictable. It’s going to get cold, it’s going to snow, and you’re going to want to make sure your Nissan car is ready for the worst of it. If you haven’t already, this is the perfect time to winterize your Nissan Rogue or Nissan Sentra.

All-wheel drive is a huge help when driving conditions get sloppy. If you don’t have AWD, don’t fret. There’s a secret you should know. A new set of snow tires on a FWD car or SUV will get you farther than bald tires on an AWD car. Traction matters regardless of your driveline.

Beyond your tires, there are some other things that are worth addressing when winter comes ‘round. Antifreeze is a must, especially if you’ve been running on a blend that’s optimized for warm weather. Heavier-duty wipers also have their place, since they’re a lot better at moving ice and snow. We also suggest keeping spare hats and gloves, a scraper, and a collapsible snow shovel in your vehicle just in case.

There are some other steps that are best done by the techs at your Nissan service center at our new Nissan car dealership. Bring your vehicle in for winterizing and we’ll check the tires and brakes, battery and alternator, heater, hoses, fluids, and key systems. Be sure to check out our Nissan service specials to help defray the cost.

Winter is coming. We can’t protect your car from your fellow drivers, but the service department at Mentor Nissan is here to help protect your car against the rest of the worst that a Painesville winter can throw at it. Our staff makes Nissan service easy, and our service specials keep it affordable. Why not visit us at 6960 Center St. in Mentor, OH.
