2016 Nissan Leaf

The Nissan brand has always been one to keep in touch with technology and use their advanced knowledge to create new Nissan cars that help our Earth rather than hurt it. This is just one of many reasons why Mentor Nissan is proud to be the most trusted Nissan dealerships near the Willoughby, OH area. One Nissan car that has been working hard towards improving the environment is the Nissan Leaf, the automaker’s primary electric subcompact vehicle.

The Nissan Leaf was one of the first of its kind debuting in 2010, and has since been one of the most popular EVs on the market. The Nissan Leaf is available in three trim levels (S, SV, SL) and it was just announced that the standard trim level would now be getting a bigger battery. Originally, the S trim had a 24 kWh battery, but it has now officially been upgraded to the 30 kWh battery that was initially only found on the two higher trim levels. This announcement means that the EPA-maximum range will be increased from 84 miles to an impressive 107 miles for the standard level on the leaf.

The Nissan Leaf was one of the most affordable EVs in its class with the MSRP for the S trim level coming in at $29,000, but now with the battery enhancement, the new MSRP is said to be around $32,450.
