We are currently in the midst of auto show season here in the United States. One of the biggest events is the Detroit Auto Show, which was held last month. Here at Mentor Nissan, your Mentor, OH new car dealership, we like to stay up to date on all the latest Nissan brand news and technologies. Perhaps the biggest news coming out of auto show season for Nissan lovers was the debut of the Nissan Xmotion, a new concept SUV.
Pronounced Cross Motion, the Nissan Xmotion certainly has a sleek and futuristic look. The front and back doors open in opposite directions for easier entry into the vehicle. The whole exterior features a streamlined look with the only breaks being the seam splitting the front and rear doors on each side and where the hatch opens.
When you make your way inside the new Nissan concept car, the feel only gets more futuristic. The interior is able to equip seven touchscreens. Gone is the traditional rearview mirror. Instead, you will find a “digital room mirror.” The “infotainment” system utilizes a touch screen, but it also recognizes hand gestures and eye movements to recognize what what you are trying to do and communicate.
The interior of the Nissan Xmotion is outfitted with wood trim that balances out the advanced look and feel of the vehicle. It is not known if or when this concept SUV will see the streets in the future, but it is a great insight into what we can can expect from the Nissan brand going forward.
